What is the difference between a Customer Data Platform (CDP) and a Marketing Cloud?
A Customer Data Platform (CDP) is a data management solution that aims to collect, integrate, and manage customer data from multiple sources to create a comprehensive customer profile. A CDP focuses on collecting and organising data to enable personalised marketing campaigns.
A marketing cloud, on the other hand, is a more comprehensive platform that provides various tools and features for cross-channel marketing management. It typically includes features such as email marketing, campaign management, automation, segmentation and personalisation. A marketing cloud enables the implementation of marketing strategies and the execution of marketing campaigns.

How can I integrate Direct Mail into the digital customer journey?
In every marketing cloud, it is possible to create targeted customer journeys on the basis of segmentation. For this purpose, marketing clouds usually offer so-called journey builders (also called scenarios, storyboards or automation programmes). These are not only extremely helpful when it comes to reaching customers in the most personalised way possible. Ideally, they also enable the integration of various marketing channels into individual customer communication. With our software solution, you can supplement the classic digital channels such as email, push notification, app and SMS with print mailings.
This means that you no longer send a mass mailing with the same content to all customers as you did “in the past”, which has to be produced manually and with a lot of effort. Instead, you integrate personalised print mailings into the digital customer journey with just a few clicks. Once you have identified a suitable target group for a print mailing (e.g. first-time, loyal or churning customers), you can upload the matching print files via the seamless integration and use the print mailing in the Journey Builder. Often you can even implement all steps from segmentation to uploading the print design directly in the Marketing Cloud (e.g. with emarsys, Salesforce and DynaCampaign). Once the print mailing has been configured accordingly and the individual customer data has been transferred to us, everything is done. We take care of printing and postal delivery.

We can also send data back to your Marketing Cloud or CDP via our WebHooks. This allows you to create reports or receive feedback on address quality, for example.
